The paper that needs to be written. The trash that needs to be sorted. The guest room that needs repainting. The Zoom meeting you need to attend. The dentist appointment you should make because something feels wrong with your upper left molar.
It’s not just you who is stalling. Postponement is all around us.
Whether it is a feeling, a wish, or an activity—ours or someone else’s—there is no denying the instinct to delay certain things. During this project, we gathered these increments of lost time and created a space for discussion and making around the act of postponement.
Postponed Until Further Notice is a hybrid publication featuring six digital artworks that respond to notions of time, delay, and rest. Developed in response to the widespread postponement and cancellation of cultural events during the pandemic, the project stands as an artefact of time spent reflecting on postponement in a broader sense. It asks how delay can open up space for reflection, experimentation, and alternative timelines.
As a non-linear roadmap, the publication reveals the complexity and versatility of procrastination and invites the reader to navigate their own path—stumbling upon digitally hosted artworks along the way. Ownership of the publication is distributed, shared, and deferred, as it continues to circulate among new readers.
We invite you to trace the lines, linger at the knots, and explore this entanglement of time spent pondering postponement.
